no footie 4 me!!!!

Since the world cup has been on my money has gone down.. dramatically!!!!
Nobody, comes down at the market to spend their money at the weekend..they obviously are on front of the T.V or at the pub watching the football matches..and because the situation is more than depressing...I also end up spending money out of boredom on booze and clothes..tragic!!!
Anyway, I can't wait for all this football craze to stop...but then it will be sunny..nobody again is gonna be around..as the seaside is much more appealing than a basement down Brick Lane...Damn it! I have to face up to reality..and start planning for a very cheap holiday..I was thinking Greece but realistically, I can't afford it..So a trip with the car down the South of France will just do..also I heard there is loads of car boots sale in France..which is very tempting for a treasure hunter like me :-)

From one weekend to an other!

This weekend has been pretty hard work...Very early mornings, lots of buying but unfortunately not much buying from my lovely customers :-((( Sometimes, like all of us people just don't have the cash...

Anyway, next weekend will be amazing, cause I have gathered some pretty special pieces..I'm talking immaculate eye catching 50's dresses, lovely 40's shoes, few more Levis jacket (S-M), few boater hats (Dunn&Co...:Hello!!!).
So yes, quite a lot of great stuff!!!

Let's get back to this weekend, I was trading at the Vibe bar, which is quite tucked away..Most people are half pissed and they suddenly seem to forget which sizes they are or should I say, they suddenly believe in their ultimate fantasy..like the girl who is obviously a size 16 and try to squeeze into a size 10..EMBARRASSING but after few glasses of wine, quite normal!!
So business wasn't flowing like it should have been for a Sunday and yes it was rubbish, so won't be trading there again!

But I will be back to the downstairs of the Upmarket on Friday, which mean instead of going up the stairs and making your legs exhausted before you reach us, you will just have to gently stroll down and reach The vintage heaven (still full of energy :-)))

So see you on Friday :-)

Sew on patches

I have a thing about "sew on patches" today. I had a check on ebay and you can find some pretty cool one for dead cheap :-)

I have ordered few and Im gonna sew them on my damaged leather gear and also Im gonna put them on denim jacket, denim shirt, and on the back pocket of denim short/trousers/skirts..

Few on those patches stand out better. Like: American flag, 2 guns, eagle, horses, tiger, cats, cool band like New York Dolls or Blondie...

I mean...lets do it..Let's go patches crazy!!! I dare you :-)

Best sunglasses around!

Summer is coming...More sun and in desperate need of a uber cool pair of shade!!! I personally buy mine at the vintage pop-up market to a stall call Frockstar. They are so cool that I am bloody addict to them and I buy a pair every week!!!

I think the best one at the moment are the tortoise frame (a la Johnny Depp!).

Anyway, the sunglasses are all vintage (mostly designer..oh yeeeesssss) and considering the fact that you can't find them anywhere else, they are dead cheap (£15-£20)...

Also if you need nerdy glasses frame to put a prescription in..Don't waste your precious cash at specsaver..Go to Frockstar and get a beauty from the 70's!!!!

Big kiss to Linzi and Elsa ;-)

Too rainy for me!

This weekend was too grey and rainy for me. Anyway, I was at the pop-up market during 3 days.. On the first day, friday, I realised that I lost my little suitcase filled with all my handmade head pieces and jewellery! I was in such a state..I fell physically sick just thinking about it..But lucky me, someone found the suitcase and brought it back to the market office :-)))
It made me realise how important it is for me to make things, so this week that's just what Im going to do!

Today, I found a really cool pair of shoes (UK 5.5) from the 80's with floral pattern all over it, they will look great with a nice playsuit. I will bring them on saturday at the clock Tower market in Greenwich next to the cinema.

Also, Im thinking of customising few Levis jacket...As they are a bit boring and they look so similar on everybody...let's make them more unique!!

Anyway, this week I will be trading in Greenwich on saturday at the flee market, then I will be at the pop-up market on sunday, so come along :-)

I will do some pictures of my latest found tomorrow, so keep in touch!

Wednesday 28 April 2010

Made a really cool t-shirt yesterday...Kinda a bit crazy about fox lately..love their shape...the fact that they eat out of bin...they are pretty rock'n'roll!!! Anyway, though I draw one, saw it on a old top, and make holes in his eyes..

Did a bit of buying down south this morning (6.30am), got a nice burberrys coat, lovely liberty brogues (size 8), nice pimp shoes (can't get enough of them..), few bags (one scottish 1960's green leather), sequins top, Also went to Wimbledon car boot sale with Trevor and Marguerite, treated myself to an old 1920's lace scarf/cape (white with a bit of black velvet)..looks great with t-shirt or cute dresses, will definitely wear it a lot!!

Also got about 5 pairs of old granny/geeky 70's-80's prescription glasses, which at £12 a pair is a steal..compare to so uncool specsaver!!!

Anyway, got a bit of cleaning to do now with all my vintage found..but I think this weekend, you are in for a treat!!!

Few of us!

First blog :-)

27/04/10

This week I will be trading in Brick Lane from friday to sunday. My stall is located just before 1001 cafe, on top of the stairs. This market is called "vintage pop-up market", it is on top on the famous Upmarket. Lots of vintage traders, selling A grade vintage at really good prices. The atmosphere in that market is great, full of creative traders and all very down to earth..I just love going there and work, it's fun. We generally make money, because what we sell is good but sometimes, times are hard and the public don't feel like spending..so we open a bottle of wine, we put the music louder and we party :-)

Anyway, this week I feel like doing a £5 rail, because the friday crowd is always after a little bargain!
Also I will be bringing my handmade head pieces, made out of vintage ties (£15 each), I will try to upload some pictures, but they have a strong 20's-30's look but still remain casual. In fact, the balance between the pretty nots and the masculine fabric of the tie
make it easy to wear it day or night without looking OTT.

On sunday morning I will go and do some buying, so I should bring lots of new goodies..especially men's brogues, nice leather bags and more...

Also on sunday, I will be working with Marguerite. She will have a stall at the Vibe bar on Brick Lane. She will be selling lovely vintage pieces.

I will cut out some nice high-waisted leather trousers and make them into shorts. They will look great with over the knee socks and a cool pair of DM or lace-up granny boots.
So come and grab a pair :-)

Tip of the week : If you don't like shoulder pads, don't put them in the bin: shove them in your bra!!!
